The majority of the equipment, including Komatsu’s flagship 930E mining trucks, will be shipped from its Peoria Mfg. Operation facility in Peoria, IL.
This recent order reconfirms a long standing relationship between Komatsu and CNCDC which currently operates over 150 Komatsu mining trucks at two different mine sites. CNCDC’s latest order is destined for the world-class Pingshou mining complex, located at Shouzhou City in Shanxi Province, approximately 520 km (323 miles) southwest of Beijing. The equipment will be used to support a 50% increase in production at the property. Over half of the equipment ordered will go to An Tai Bao Coal Mine, which produced over 20 million tons of coal in 2006. The remaining trucks and support equipment will go to Anjailing Coal Mine, which produced over 15 million tons of coal in 2006. The 930E is the flagship of Komatsu’s off-highway mining truck product line. It is equipped with a 2700 horsepower engine and an AC electric drive system that utilizes a state of the art control system. The gross vehicle weight of the truck exceeds 1.1 million lbs. and has a carrying capacity of 320 short tons. Komatsu’s Peoria Mfg. Operation produces off-highway mining trucks ranging from 100 to 320 short ton capacity and the plant employs more than 600 individuals.
